Legendary musicians Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley are credited with introducing reggae music to the world in the 60s and 70s. Cliff was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His music often addresses social issues. He grew up in a poor Christian family in Jamaica, the seventh of nine children. We love his 2012 album “Rebirth” and the song, “World Upside Down” in which he sings about the world’s sins and the need for justice, “They say the world is spinning around, I say the world is upside down . . . Looking at the world today I am implored to say, so much war and poverty, while few enjoy prosperity.” Go ahead and sing along.
