Thad Cockrell

Singer-songwriter Thad Cockrell (far left) is the son of a Baptist minister, so he’s just as comfortable singing about women and heartbreak as he is about Jesus and grace. In fact he says he has “lost fans for his religious convictions and alienated [others] with songs that aren’t always about God.” We recommend all his records especially “Begonias” and “To Be Loved.” Here’s the title track off “To Be Loved” in which he sings, “He knows the names of my sorrows. He knows the names of my fears. Why should I let them bother me, for I know He is near.” This song also makes a great lullaby. Listen here:
