I grew up on Hank Williams, the Country & Western singer-songwriter who topped the charts in the early part of the 20th century. Williams struggled with his faith, and lived a hard life. He died at the age of 29 from drug and alcohol addiction. And yet, his work, informed by the hymnody of his childhood, blessed people. Listen to “I Saw the Light”, “Dust on the Bible,” and “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.” Not a supporter of this site? For a $3 you could be.
