The Silver Linings Playbook tells the story of Pat Solitano, played by Bradley Cooper. Recently released from a psychiatric hospital, Pat moves in with his parents, determined to become a better person and win back his estranged wife. When he meets recently-widowed sex addict Tiffany Maxwell, played by Jennifer Lawrence (who won Best Actress for the role) she convinces him that she will help him get his wife back if he enters a dance competition. A story about love, family, and redemption that is beautifully written and acted you will finish this movie with a big smile on your face.
As John P. McCarthy writes for Catholic News Service, “The message about silver linings — about our ability to overcome unfortunate circumstances — feels less like a Hollywood contrivance than the truth. And the notion that the line between normal and crazy isn’t as clear as we often assume suggests that being judgmental short-circuits both hope and understanding.”
