More Than a Game

A great movie for Father’s Day weekend, More Than a Game, tells the story of an inexperienced player’s father, Coach Dru, who takes four Ohio kids with nothing to do and plenty of struggles, and turns them into high school basketball legends. More Than a Game follows the boys from a decrepit inner city gym to the national high school championship. The true story of how LeBron James and his St. Vincent- St. Mary classmates (Romeo Travis, Sian Cotton, Willie McGee, and Dru Joyce) overcame obstacles, became a family, and captured the national spotlight will amaze and inspire.  (Of course, James and the Miami Heat are playing against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA playoffs this weekend.  Here at TCC we cop to being Spurs fans, but after watching More Than a Game you will have nothing but respect for LeBron James and his St. Vincent-St. Mary family.)
