In the 1830s, Georgetown University, a Jesuit school, sold slaves. Now this evil history is being brought to light and the slow process of reconciliation has begun. In the 1830s the vast majority of free Americans supported slavery. In 1945, the vast majority of Americans agreed with the use of nuclear weapons.
