Michael Leach, author of Why Stay Catholic, writes about caring for his wife with Alzheimer’s disease in National Catholic Reporter, “Vickie is the most grateful person I’ve ever known. A few years ago when we’d take a walk, she’d exclaim, ‘This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad! Thank you, God!’  Those words are gone now. But she’ll still point to the sky and exclaim, ‘Look at that! It’s beautiful!'”
